Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing y Switching es un programa de certificación para ingenieros de red de nivel básico que ayuda a maximizar su inversión en el conocimiento fundamental de redes y aumentar el valor de la red de su empleador.

CCNA Routing y Switching está dirigido a Especialistas en redes, administradores de red y a ingenieros de soporte de red con 1-3 años de experiencia. El CCNA Routing y Switching valida la capacidad de instalar, configurar, operar y solucionar problemas de mediano tamaño redes enrutadas y conmutadas.

Los candidatos adquieren know-how en instalación, monitorización y solución de problemas de infraestructura de red.

El plan de estudios incluye routers y switches de Cisco, cómo reducir las amenazas a la seguridad, introducción a la tecnología inalámbrica, conceptos y terminología de redes, y habilidades para la mejora del rendimiento de la red.

También contempla la utilización de los siguientes protocolos: IP, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Serial Line Interface Protocol, Frame Relay, VLANs, OSPF, Ethernet and Access Control Lists (ACLs). El programa también incluye la gestión de Cisco dispositivos con IOS v15, políticas de licenciamiento de Cisco y la resolución de problemas (troubleshooting).

El poseedor de la certificación CCNA puede realizar lo siguiente:
-Instalar y configurar Switches y Routers de Cisco en redes con varios protocolos que utilicen interfaces LAN y WAN.
-Ofrecer un servicio de resolución de problemas de Nivel I.
-Mejorar el rendimiento y la seguridad de la red.
